Friday Weekly Roundup!

I wanted to take a moment to share with everyone what I’m learning, what I’m experimenting with, and some of the highlights of my week. I hope this gives you some value!

What’s Got Me Excited?

There’s always something…the first one would be finally releasing the teaser trailer of a new web series I’m starring in called “Solaris: Evolution”. This is a very fun action-adventure role where solar flares are beginning to engulf the earth and a few humans have suddenly been endowed with strange abilities (superpowers). I play Ethan Mace who has light-based superpowers.

Take a look!

The other thing I’m extremely excited about is a recent song I released. I started working on music at the end of last year—releasing a motivational style rap song called “Rising Son”, but my true passion has always been more melodic music—especially in the reggaeton/Latin trap genre.

I just started teaching myself to sing earlier this year. It started off pretty rough and it’s still not beautiful, but I’ve made some big strides.   I recently did a cover to “Futbol y Rumba” by Enrique Iglesias & Anuel AA to share my progress with my followers—let me know what you think!

What am I reading?

I’m finally reading Principles by Ray Dalio. Ray Dalio is the extraordinarily successful hedge fund manager of Bridgewater. He’s outperformed the market for decades now, making his clients and himself billions of dollars through his unique system of investing. Over the years, he’s consistently documented his decision making process both in life and business to be able to create a set of principles that can help him make the smartest decisions and investments consistently. It’s really a terrific read. Here’s a quote that resonated with me.   “The success of this approach taught me a principle that I apply to all parts of my life: Making a handful of good uncorrelated bets that are balanced and leveraged well is the surest way of having a lot of upside without being exposed to unacceptable downside.”

What am I experimenting with?

Interestingly enough, fruits and vegetables! What would possess me, Mr. Carnivore Shredding, to do such a thing? Curiosity quite honestly. I’m always in search of optimization. I’m in a bulking phase currently now that gyms are open again in California. So in addition to my usual staples of beef, eggs, fish, and Greek yogurt, I’m also consuming a fair amount of white rice to really fill out. Not necessary to bulk, but it sure helps. It’s like taking the elevator instead of the stairs.   But I’ve also been throwing in leafy green salads, and some melons, pomegranate seeds, citrus, and berries a few times a week to see what effect it has on my bulk, energy, and skin.

Lessons Learned This Week

The importance of proper scheduling and a holistic approach to success. I get a lot done over the course of the week. I take those 7 days, 24 hours a day, and fit in sleep, work, family, my hobbies, exercise, reading, and fun. When you’re very clear on what your targets are and why—you then have clear next steps. I’ve learned over time that it’s important to spread out those little next steps over the course of a week (and sometimes a month) to keep your workload manageable. Otherwise you try to do everything everyday and inevitably fail.

Have a great weekend everyone and I’ll check in again next Friday! If you ever want to reach out with any questions or comments, just reply to this email—or shoot me a DM on Instagram!

All the best,
