5 Signs You Should Clarify Your Goals

Uncategorized Apr 30, 2020

1. You’re constantly seeking a perfect strategy or the “right” thing to do.

If you’re always looking for the perfect gameplan or “play” to make, that may suggest that you’re not clear enough yet on what your exact goal is. When you have a clear target, it’s measurable, and it has a deadline—then the next apparent step becomes clear!

2. You can’t wait for the weekend.

When your targets and goals are clear, you are filled with an excitement and purpose because you know that every single action you take, you are getting one step closer to turning your dream into a reality. If most of your workdays are filled with monotony and boredom, then that is because you’re not sure if your current actions are leading anywhere.

3. You keep putting things off.

If you continually procrastinate on something, it’s time to revisit your goal. Sometimes you may have a specific goal, but you have not clearly visualized the outcome. Once you can fully see the outcome of the goal, the steps will become easier to take and you will be more willing to take them.

4. You’re not exactly sure what your target is.

Having vague goals can be almost as bad as having no goals at all! The problem with a vague goal is that you will never know if you have achieved it or not. For example, if you set a goal to lose 20 lbs…when is the deadline? What is the start weight? What is the finish weight? Does it matter if you lose it through exercise or fasting? These details are important. You will discover these details through visualizing the outcome, so it’s important to visualize then write down the details!

5. You keep changing your goals.

If your goals are constantly in flux, then you will constantly be drifting. It’s important to choose big goals, specific goals, then stick with them. Your goals may be consistently changing because you are choosing “appropriate goals”. Things that sound good to your peers, society, your family…rather than what you truly feel called to do.

Take some time to revisit your 2020 goals and make sure they are specific and have clarity!

Keep working hard!
